The first dream, to put books into the hands of Racine’s children has come true. Over 250,000 books have been distributed, but Cops ‘N Kids is just the beginning of a greater vision. Julia Witherspoon has traveled extensively and helped to open over 40 Cops ‘N Kids programs throughout the U.S.

Our dream is to open several more satellite Reading Centers in Racine to help foster hope, safety and pride for those who live in disadvantaged neighborhoods. When a safe haven filled with books is around the corner or across the street, the possibilities are endless.

Working together Cops ‘N Kids, as well as other community members, can reclaim the future; a future full of reading, writing, success in school, confidence, self-respect, creativity, potential and the ability to make their own dreams come true.
